Gosh’froggin’darnit. I always wait too long to opdate this blog and I always end up not knowing what to say anymore because I want to type about so many things that I can’t remember anymore. It’s making me very unhappy.

A lot of stuff has happened. My world came tumbling down for one. I’ve had trouble reading stuff from afar for a while now, but I figured I was just tired because I stay up nights. Turns out I really need glasses. My eyesight is about 70-80% accurate and that’s not really spectaculair. I really thought I was the exception to the rule. Everyone in my family wears glasses or lenses. Now I don’t know what to think anymore. Like, I’ve never had problems with acne before, and suddenly it’s all over my friggin face. It’s like a bad nightmare that keeps getting worse. Who knows what else is wrong with me?!

Give me your SOUL

It’s weird. I find that I’m having more time than usual. I’m not behind on my reading/assignments. It’s kind of cool. All I have to do is chill. I’m trying to get my reviews up, but it’s still going to take me a while.

I finished watching Yossi & Jagger this morning. I kind of got the idea that it was essential gay cinema and I wanted to understand the hype. So, I watched it. It’s like Brokeback Mountain without the mountains, Ledger and Gyllenhaal, cowboys, long running time and big budget. Instead, you have snow, Knoller and Levi, soldiers, a 65-minute running time and total costs of about $200,000. Let’s start with what I didn’t like… The movie was mostly predictable, had some scenes and characters I could’ve lived without and was ultimately too short. I felt like they could (and probably wanted to) achieve more. The movie’s major achievement is it’s characters, who were totally natural on screen and fun to watch; characters you can’t help but care about. Overall, not my kind of movie at all… But it has the ability to move it’s audience in a very simple and direct way and it’s kind of the only thing that really matters. Or something like that.

I think I’m definitely feeling a little bit guilty for skipping my classes today. I should know better! I spent the whole day watching the first season of a TV series called New Amsterdam instead! And then, oh God, all my good intentions got cluttered and reshuffled and now I’ve done absolutely nothing all day! The show is pretty cool btw. It’s about this 400 year old homicide detective trying to find true love so he can be MOTRAL!1 again. Oh well, beats hearing about visual agnosia and sleeping patterns. *obligatory sigh*

Also, I’m nineteen years old and I’ve never been to a concert or festival. That sounds really, really sad and it is. I’m hoping to see BRMC this summer and hope I don’t spazz out from excitement-OVERLOAD. This is like, my only chance to see ‘m, it’s not like they drop in every year! They might be dead tomorrow! I MIGHT BE DEAD TOMORROW! D=

I’ve stopped trying to update my reviews page (for now) because wordpress is being a bitch.

Legen… dary

Oh Lord. I’m supposed to be reading my textbook on Biological Psychology right now, but instead I’m watching Firefly and How I Met Your Mother episodes. Great shows by the way. I’m giving up on the whole television thing. The Internet is the way to go! You watch whatever you want to watch whenever you want to watch it and right now I’m watching HIMYM and it’s making me very, very happy. I’ll admit that the show only caught my attention because Britney Sparse did a cameo on that one episode, but to my delight, Neil Patrick Harris is really cool in it. God, he was like, SO amazing in Harold and Kumar and I recently found out he’s gay and that’s like totally fine, y’know? HIMYM isn’t half bad, what I’ve seen is actually pretty good. I’ve also been watching Firefly, and it totally reminded me of Cowboy Bebop (which is good). At last, a sci-fi show that does things differently! I’m not big on sci-fi, probably because I never had access to it… I did watch Stargate SG-1 for a long while and Star Trek Voyager for a bit. Back to Cowboy Bebop. Firefly has the same Space Western thing going on (with all the horses and bars and cowboys and everyone’s packing guns and everything is all violent etc.), except the crew isn’t chasing criminals like in Bebop, but rather being criminals themselves. And it’s a lot of fun. Too bad the show kind of died before it could make an impact.

It’s not like, I don’t have anything to write about… On the contrary, I have too much I want to write, and just the thought of having to get it all out on paper or blog makes me want to… go do something else. It’s not like I have the time to update anyways (or so I keep telling myself). I had to go through a hell week of exams and they weren’t easy, lemme tell you that. I had to go through shitloads of books and absorb info like crazy to get through it in one piece… and absolutely victorious! Sometimes I just really enjoy telling myself”: “Damn, baby, you’re just fucking brilliant!”.

Back on topic, I’m going to try and post like crazy. Every single (fucking) time I get a new blog, I just start worrying about the stupidest things and end up writing nothing. I take trivial stuff waaaaay toooooo (fucking) serious, man. If my sis were here, she’d tell me to take a chill pill (and then some). Sooooo, I’m going to try and let loose, like waaaay loose. Just hang, y’know. Go with tha mothafuck’n flow. Yea, ya heard right, ima take a backseat and see where the ride takes meeee

Another week has begun. Time flies, doesn’t it? I’ve been getting into (old) Chinese martial arts movies lately. They make my heart flutter with excitement. :)  Hearing Wong Fei Hung’s theme makes me remember the old days… There are actually a number of songs that in some weird way fill my body with warmth, comfort and familiarity. I’ll post the ones I can remember just for kicks. Here’s ‘a man of determination’, the theme that pops up whenever Wong Fei Hung gets heroic, the Chiyoko theme from Millenium Actress which just breaks my heart everytime as it reminds me of the movie and of course the Dragonball GT opening theme. Dragonball GT was the first anime I ever watched and the opening brings back a flood of memories. It excites me in a very familiar, positive way. Aahhhhh…

Sweeney Todd (2007)

Johnny and Helena

If you know me, you’ll know that I’m a big moviefan. I’ll watch just about anything, as long as it’s good. Instead of rambling inappropriately about different movies at weird times, I’ve decided to review the movies I’ve watched with a simple format that allows me to channel my thoughts in ways that will help you understand what the hell I’m talking about. First up (ever, I’ve never written a proper review in my life, so don’t expect mindblowing brilliance please) is Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of fleet street.

There was a barber and his wife, and she was beautiful…

Sweeney Todd is about a demon barber (of fleet street) who gets on a killing spree because his perfect life was taken from him by evil judge Turpin. You’ve got good ol’ Johnny as Mr. Todd, Helena Bonham Carter as the looney lady who’s got a crush on him, Alan Rickman (yes, Snape) as the judge and that ratguy from Harry Potter as his pet.

Good: The movie looks absolutely gorgious. The production is amazing. The actors are fantastic in their roles. Especially Johnny and Helena, who make a crazy couple. And the singing I guess, everyone can sing.

Bad: I guess I didn’t expect that much singing. I’m not crazy about musicals… I would’ve liked to see more background story on both Sweeney and that Anthony guy. Also, I wasn’t expecting the movie to be that dark and disturbing. I’ve heard some people didn’t like the color of the blood that was squirting out of people’s throats. I guess you ‘get’ it or you don’t. The directer is friggin’ Tim Burton, man! He could’ve picked any shade of red if he’d wanted to! That means he picked bright sparkly red for a friggin’ (artistic) reason! Dude, how can you miss that?

Overall: I enjoyed the movie, but not as much as I had anticipated. Tim Burton fans will love it, although this one has a darker theme than his other movies. If you hate to see people singing, don’t go.

Nothing

I’m an evening person. I get weird ideas at midnight. They seem wonderful, revolutionary and incredible at first. But everything always goes wrong when I try to execute them, which happens during the day. In the past few years, I’ve had the idea of creating a ”really, really cool blog” at least a dozen times. I feel compelled to keep trying. Here goes…

Hello world!

It took me forever and ever and ever and ever to start up this blog. Yes, another one. Now… I have to ponder some more about the lay-out.
